I am trying to fine a computer based program for a missionary to India. She has an Apple Macbook.

Does Online Bible work with the Mac OS X?

Thanks for any help.

I just got following forum anwer of a user in Austria who works with an Apple with Intel processor. I try to translate it and somebody of you may check the contents.

There exists a software on http://www.parallels.com/en/ which enables you to run other Operating Systems parallel to Macs w/o problems.

Robert,

Online Bible Version 3.95.02

Full support for WINE which means the program will run on Mac and Linux with
WINE. WINE version is restricted to the starter pack modules. It requires an
unlock fee like the Pocket PC to access all modules. We would like to recover
some of our development expenses. The existing Windows Unicode version runs
under WINE. Testing was done on the free version of Wine version 1.1.28
(http://www.winehq.org) and Ubuntu Linux 9.04 (April 2009) On the MAC,
Codeweaver’s WINE was used. We have not extensively tested other versions of
Linux with WINE and have had reports of it not working on some versions of
Linux. The audio portion of the Online Bible is not supported under WINE.

In Christ,

Mike Holliday

Aapaprently, there is no fix for Mac users running Leopard on Intel Machines.
That is too bad.
Any one know better than I do concerning this.
Not worth it to put windows on my Mac.
Only work around is to partition an external drive with older OS and run from there. I probably won't.

I have been happily using Online Bible since 1996. Currently I have an emac (2002) and need to update this. I understand new Macs do not run 'classic' and from this site I find I cannot run it on Mac OS X, which I do have. If Online Bible is available on Mac OS x later, will I be able to transfer my notes, or do I have to get a PC? I do not find Online Bible so convenient there.

I am not a computer expert, I just know what I have to know to use the computer. The programme has been such a help to me.
